From Kevin Walz own account: "KorQinc was a company that produced designs made of compressed virgin cork remnants from the bottle stopper industry in Sardinia, Italy. Cork is a completely green renewable resource. The KorQ/Walz Collection was the first furniture made of 100% cork in the world and is represented in several permanent design collections in museums worldwide. The collection harnessed the unique properties of cork, resilience and memory. Most of the collection was exhibited at the Pompidou Center, Paris in 2001-2002. KorQinc also produced the first colored cork plank flooring, architectural elements and table top designs, including a large food-safe platter, which was sold at the MoMA design shop in New York. The production pieces are now sought after by collectors of modern design."
